Review of Man of the House (1995) by Hou Boun K — 14 Jun 2009
Seem like too much of a chick flick for my liking. It's always great to see Jones in a comedy - seriousness and mess ups do seem to mix together.
Would have liked more pace to the story. As with pretty much all chick flicks, the structure is predictable, nothing happens much, guys are expected to drool over the babes, plots do not exist, the logic and reasoning in the story's structure goes out of the window somewhere towards the end, and there is the inevitable mushy ending that guys cringe over.
The concept is fair game and might have worked if the story wasn't based around a chick flick.
