Review of Man of Tai Chi (2013) by Gene S — 22 Dec 2013
Thoroughly enjoyed it. The fight scenes, the acting, plot, and setting were all very well done and to the point. It's easy to tell how the story will play out early on in the film but I loved the delivery. The dialog and character emotion seemed genuine to me, I find that not only important in a movie but sadly rare since these days I have be distracted by a pretty face or building burning to pay less attention to cheesy lines and bad performance. The only thing I found odd was that as much fighting that occurred, it hardly has any bruising or blood being shown which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
On a side note what it doesn't have is explosions every tens minuets building being destroyed, over-dramatic blood everywhere, or under dressed girls walking around and I think that's what many people find missing in this film.
Great job Keana Reeves and Michael G. Cooney!
