Review of Man of Tai Chi (2013) by Tanmart S — 08 Aug 2014
Keanu Reeves' directorial debut is a well-constructed kung fu film that doesn't mess around and gets down to business with the fight scenes. And those fight scenes are indeed awesome. I thought perhaps the non-fight scenes would be boring but they are not.
They are essential to the plot and whatever emotion that's meant to be conveyed is done well. Tiger Chen is really good as the film's protagonist and Reeves, although still a very wooden actor, is convincing the film's heel.
Probably the most underrated movie of 2013.
