Review of Man of Tai Chi (2013) by Peter F — 25 Aug 2014
Keanu's directing was extremely superb for a first outing. Reeves put so much of his time into directing that if left nothing for him to put into acting, unfortunately. However his lack of decent acting, somewhat, adds to his character.
Tiger Chen performed remarkably as the front man. His character is loveable, torn, and aware of his downward spiral, and Chen displays it. A very unique "fight" film and extremely entertaining.
The fact that Chen is a Hollywood fight choreographer, and a legit Tai Chi master, adds a great deal to the fight scenes. Overall opinion, a very fun movie, interesting story, light reading, his greatest opponent is himself.
