Man of Steel is able to get the essence of Superman and mix it up with breathtaking visuals and epic "how supernatural entities fighting scenes supposed to look like" scenes and presents a very good antagonist with Shannon's Zod. It isn't the best comics based movie but the exaggeratedly.
Negative critics are unjust because their writers simply don't get the point.
