Review of Man of Steel (2013) by David B — 23 Mar 2016
First time watching this, I had a few problems with this film but since it's release, I have watched it many a time and have come to the conclusion that this film is perfect.
It's not with out it's flaws, don't get me wrong, I mean even The Godfather, Citizen Kane or The Shawshank Redemption have flaws here and there, just like any film but I believe Man of Steel is as close to perfection, as you're ever going to get with a Superman film.
Sure you could have gone a different route with the character in terms of story or tone but this is all to do with taste. It's definitely a controversial film but that doesn't make it unworthy, to be considered as great. It does a grand job at blending the grittiness of The Dark Knight trilogy with the scale of The Avengers, with heartfelt scenes that add to the emotional story. All in all, if you like superhero movies or even if you don't, give it a go with an open mine.
