Review of Man of Steel (2013) by Marcus C — 02 Apr 2016
Christopher Nolan's ghost permeates Zack Snyder's directing and that's the main problem with "Man of Steel". When Snyder uses his trademark over-the-top fighting sequences and his keen sense of adapting comics to the big screen the movie quite works.
Not to mention Henry Cavill, who nailed the part of Kal-El, and the supporting cast, filled with A-listers giving their best like Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne and, especially, Kevin Costner and Russell Crowe.
Despite the film's lenght, David S. Goyer's screenplay is tightly constructed and we can feel how Clark/ Kal is a misfit in this world. A good beginning for a new franchise, let's hope "Batman Vs.
Superman" won't kill it.
