Review of Man of Steel (2013) by Emile H — 09 May 2017
To be clear, I love this movie, yet I do believe things could've been fleshed out better, both figuratively and literally. But to me, I think it's the best Superman movie I've seen since Superman II.
What Cavill's acting and Nolan's writing entails is that being the world's greatest hero means paying the price for his acts of courage in a real world. Sure, the involvement of the other characters is a bit shoehorned and the most epic moments drag on for quite too long after already leaving you on the edge of your seat.
However, the overlying story of being the new generation of a dead species, having the ability to be extraordinary, and ultimately having such ideals being put to the test, make Snyder's imperfect spectacle all the more interesting to watch.
