Review of Man of Steel (2013) by Mae B — 21 Sep 2018
The world is to big.
Then make it small again.
I've always been a fan of the tv-show Lois&clark. The superman show I grew up with.
Of course there have been several new movies about superman but none of them ever got my interest until now.
Man of steel begins on kryton with the birth of Kal-El (cavill).
His father (crowe) and mother send him to earth as general zodd tries to take the codex from the council and later Jor-El.
As baby superman is being flown away to earth whe see krypton explode after general Zodd and his team have faced justice.
Years and years later Zodd stayed true to his last words.
He arrives on earth with the goal to find the codex and make earth the new krypton.
He just has to go trough a grown-up kal-el to do so.
Henry Cavill seems so perfect as superman. He's able to look strong and equally vulnerable.
And refreshing is the fact that the movie doesn't make superman as the ultimate boy scout who's always good spirited and does everything right.
No we see a superman and clark kent who's is struggling to find his role and place on earth. Which is so realistic.
And what a great and epic moment when whe get to see superman in his, amazing, suit fort he first time! WAUW.
And no fun? am I reading the reviews right?
Maybe the humour is different from the other movies but a truck gets flown into a pole, he let's himself get handcuffed and then pulls them of as if it was a bracelet.
Come on there are so many funny moments.
And why is it a bad thing to trade a little humour for a better story?
The only thing I had a problem with was the chemistry between Amy Adams and Henry Cavill.
I just didn't buy it. Somehow it didn't work for me while I do like her as lois lane.
I also have to give a shout out to the special effects and the cinematography.
Beautiful!
And above all the movie has me fired up fort he next dceu movie.
Which I have never been before.
