Review of Man Down (2016) by Serena D — 07 Dec 2016
This movie is hauntingly beautiful, philosophically rich, and psychologically devastating. While it reminded me of a number of other war movies, it was different because it elevated psychology above all else and really took me there with Shia.
I saw it a second time last night, and it was even more rewarding emotionally and intellectually. I hope they get this movie out to a wider audience. I think online streaming would be perfect to allow viewers time to process what they are watching as the movie really pushes the envelope and is deliberately difficult to watch.
