Review of Man Bites Dog (1992) by Travis E — 14 Oct 2009
Ho-hum. I fluctuated between fresh and rotten for this one. After the initial setup for the satirical premise, the film continues to hit the same note over and over again. Boy does this film feel much longer than 90 minutes. And don't think I'm some prude when it comes to violence-I likes it, I likes it a lot. This could have been a fantastic short film, but the material doesn't support a feature length. But there's enough fine acting and dark, dark humor to merit a marginal recommendation if you can tolerate ultra violence. If not, then don't see it. You aren't missing out on much.
(SPOILERS!!!).
Also I would have preferred the film crew and protagonist to be wiped out in a far more brutal fashion than the quick death they received. Those guys were a bunch of fucking dicks.
