Review of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018) by Ashley M — 27 Jul 2018

I stumbled haphazardly into this one. I hadn't seen the first one and needed a movie to pass time before a shift at work. I opted for this one because I wanted something light and fun. I never expected to fall in love with it.

I loved it even before I fully understood who Donna even was or why Sophie referred to Bill and Harry as her 'other two fathers'. After deciding to take my son to see it soon, I sat him down to watch the first one on Netflix for backstory.

All the way up until the seeing it himself he groaned at my recent inability to abstain from singing the tunes at random moments. Now it's him breaking out in Waterloo. I'm not gonna sit here and pretend like these movies are anything more than a good time.

Rarely do I give in to watching a film again..I usually prefer films with more to bite into. But this movie...if you let yourself enjoy it as an experience rather than judge it by whether the plotline would hold up as a book (and for this movie I sure can).

..it's a great movie. A truly fun time. And for what it's worth, I can at least admit that it probably does help that I already had a girl crush on the amazing Lily James. Either way, judging by the reviews this movie is hit or miss for many.

I can only recommend watching it and finding out for yourself! For myself and most I have spoken to it's a definite hit.
