As a musical, this is great, but the movie, not so much- mainly because the producers couldn't be bothered to find out whether their actors could sing before they hired them. Kind of vital for a musical.
Pierce Brosnon in particular is really terrible, and it detracts from the cuteness and the fun of the movie as a whole. I've seen worse, but with better performers, this would have been a much better movie.
