Review of Mamma Mia! (2008) by Jackson W — 11 Nov 2011
I really enjoyed Mamma Mia when it came out due to the fun musical numbers which I feel were sung pretty well for Hollywood actors. But I can't overlook the moments of slipshod acting being done here.
Sure, Amanda Seyfried is always a confectious addition to a movie, and Pierce Brosnan also has a strong performance, but Meryl Streep, who should be the highlight of the film, acts as if she is in a drunken stupor during the entire film, as do the actors who play Donna's friends.
This failed also to really have any real point to it other than to teach that young people can't get married but old whores who are out of work should. This could have been a true musical movie classic, but if you really check all the details, it isn't even that good.
