Mamma Mia is a forgettable and dumb movie. The plot is paper thin and only serves as a back drop to the musical numbers. Unfortunately, even though a few songs are catchy, the singers aren't very good.

The acting is all pretty good, the cast is strong but they're given little to do. The story and tone are just so ridiculous, proving most musicals don't translate to comprehensive films. The scenery is nice but some of the sets are completely under lit.

There isn't much else to say, it'[s a dumb movie with some good acting and settings but the characters are bland, the story is stupid, and the singing isn't even that great for a musical. And the ending leaves pretty much all questions open ended and gets into yet more unnecessary musical numbers.

Mamma Mia gets 2/5 stars (C-).
