Meeting almost all your expectations, Mama comes with a really scary story that will make you hold your friend until he get bruises. However, it is also an example of the problem that Guillermo del Toro has with endings.
He always starts with a brilliant idea and you enjoy the first two thirds of the movie. Then, the last third of the movie is boring or out of context.
