Review of Mallrats (1995) by Luke S — 16 Jul 2009
I recently upgraded my old and tattered version of this movie on VHS to DVD and watched it for probably the millionth time. It is easily my favourite of the Kevin Smith movies and is in my opinion one of the best comedies ever made.
The acting is so natural and the dialogue was fast and furious and unique, and also very complicated. Plus it had comics, SEGA, hot chicks, weed, and weekend fun at the local mall. What more could anybody ask for?!? My favourite characters were all in this movie, especially Brodie and Jay and Silent Bob.
The thing is a gong show right from the get go and it's the little things that make the film so good. Like Brodie's ripped sock when him and T.S. are discussing their girl problems in Brodie's basement at the beginning of the movie.
This is a true classic and if you haven't seen it you should go out and buy it asap. Done and done.
