Review of Mallrats (1995) by Grëg W — 20 Feb 2010
It took me forever to find this hilarious kevin smith movie. I have seen all the movies in the view askewniverse now, and I might have to put this one on the top of the list of my favorite in the series.
the most boasts a vast array of characters, with regular view askew actors like jason lee, jason mewes, kevin smith himself, ben affleck, joey lauren adams, and ethan suplee. the story follows brodie (jason lee) and T.
S. (jeremy london) getting dumped by their girlfriends rene (shannon doherty) and brandi (claire forlani) respectively. in their sadness, they decide to spend the day at the mall to calm their spirits.
they get there only to find that brandi's father, played by michael rooker, has set up his tv dating show to air live later that night. T.S. decides to sabotage the show and try to win his girl back, with the help of jay, silent bob, local sluts gwen (joey lauren adams) and tricia (renee humphrey), and even the one and only comic book legend stan lee.
I recommend this movie to any comedy fan. highlights include williams (ethan suplee) staring at the hidden picture and yelling at everyone who can see it, jay and silent bob's antics to destroy the local police force, and brodie's appearance on the dating show.
