Kevin Smith's doesn't make great movies, but his unique ludicrous style is sure entertaining. Now that's what all teen movies should look like. Some parts of the movie, however, feel rehashed; for instance, Brodie behaves a lot like Randal from Clerks (Smith's 1994 classic), and most if not all of the general themes are the same (slackers, cultural references, love problems).
