Review of Mallrats (1995) by Matt N — 18 Dec 2009
Apologies for my last review, it started but closed before finishing.
Mallrats is one of the 1990's greatest films, a landmark for Kevin Smith and his ability to consistently create and direct iconic movies. This movie, in my opinion, is probably his best work as it appeals to my geek nature, instantly bonding with Brodie and his love for all things Comic Book.
Story aside, there is a cameo from a great, well known figure, Stan Lee, who I feel absolute adoration for as he is my idol. Ben Affleck is at his usual, performing only too well in Smith movies.
Probably my favourite Kevin Smith movie to date, helped even more by the brilliant appearances of Jay and Silent bob who are a crucial element in this movie.
