Review of Mallrats (1995) by Doctor S — 21 Oct 2011
Gave this one a second chance - or rather, I didn't switch channels after turning on the dish - and found some laughs I don't remember encountering before. I suppose the passage of time helps because now most of this cast are well-known actors, so it's fun to see an up-and-coming Jason Scott Lee and Ben Affleck for instance.
I knew Jeremy London's girlfriend looked familiar, tack on 16 years and a tiara and lo & behold it's queen Igraine of Starz' lavish Camelot series! Somehow I've not seen any of Joey Lauren Adams' 25-odd movies, but she was a hot little property back in the day sporting good looks and a sexy Jennifer Tilly-like husky chirp.
Stargazing aside, the comedy graphic representation of Mallrats as a function of time peaks at the top of a semicircle.
