Review of Malice (1993) by Amelia L — 25 Aug 2007
Plot twist follows plot twist in this fun but highly implausible thriller. Baldwin gives one of his best performances (back when he could be taken seriously as an actor), particularly the "I AM GOD" speech, and Kidman is worth watching in anything (or, in the case of this movie, while not wearing anything).
Pullman is great too; the supporting cast includes Bebe Neuwirth, Peter Gallagher, Josef Sommer, Tobin Bell, and cameos by Anne Bancroft and George C. Scott. A then-unknown Gywneth Paltrow turns up too, as does Josh Malina -- which is only to be expected in a project scripted by Aaron Sorkin.
