Review of Malice (1993) by Muffin M — 26 Sep 2011
Dr. Jed Hill (Alec Baldwin) is an eminent doctor and the new head surgeon at Westerly Hospital. Confident and highly skilled, Jed quickly establishes himself as a medical whiz with miracle hands. But that's not all he is. When newlywed, Tracy Safian (Nicole Kidman), is admitted to hospital requiring emergency surgery, Jed defiantly performs an unneccsary operation which leaves her unable to ever have children.
Hit with a $20 million law suit, the real Jed starts to reveal himself. He believes he is more than a brilliant surgeon beyond reproach. Dr. Hill says he is God with the power to determine who lives, who dies and no one, but him, can do a damn thing about it. But Tracy and her husband Andy (Bill Pullman) have other ideas.
Also stars Babe Neuwirth, George C. Scott, Anne Bancroft, Peter Gallagher, Josef Sommer and Tobin Bell.
Directed by Harold Becker.
