Review of Malena (2000) by Philip E — 03 Jan 2008
What starts off as a light-hearted awakening of a boy's sexual urges turns into quite a disturbing take on life during WWII. A very good film that tears at your heart, but not so much a film to make you weep but a film to make you reflect.
Tornatore remains my favourite director and deservedly so. (If anyone can recommend any similar films, please let me know!).
