A heartwarming story about a young boy's loss of innocence growing up in a small Sicilian town during WWII. Although the title of the movie is Malena (Monica Bellucci), the voluptous widow and the lusty target of all males in the village, the movie is really the story of Renato and his journey through adolescence and puberty.
Enamored by Malena, Renato is comical, pathetic and moving.
