Review of Malena (2000) by Gregorius R — 09 Oct 2008
I mostly wanted to see this film after I saw the Dolce & Gabbana Sicily fragrance commercial, which was highly inspired by the film.
Warning: This film is for the uber mature individuals!
I really loved and sympathesized with Monica Bellucci's character because in many ways she was just an innocent, beautiful Italian woman caught in the mayhem/turmoil of WWII. However she wasn't naive and she knew what she had to do to survive. It just goes to show that beauty is dangerous, as ill-minded individuals can always percieve it wrongly!
