A coming of age story about a young boy, Renato, and his obsession over an older woman, Malena. The problem is...he's not the only one who notices her. Men fantasize about sex with her while the women all think she's a whore.
Renato is the only one who sees her for who she truly is. In fact, Renato is probably the most mature in his unwavering affections as the town's terrible obsession with beauty devastates a virtuous woman.
