I never knew Monica Bellucci was this beautiful. She is the person of objectification in this film. The story is seen through the eyes of a 12 year boy, the changes that are brought upon him when he puts his eyes on Malena, the changes that she brings all over the town, the way the men and women of the town see her. The film depicts a story of how any orthodox society would see a lonely beautiful wife and they change her into what they expect from her. There is plenty of comedy in this film and even if the whole film is seen through the boy's eyes, it provides more than sufficient characterisation to it's titular character and fuck the critics. What really makes this common story into a master piece is the 'made for adults' nature of the film.
