Review of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019) by Migs2209 — 02 Jul 2022
Five years after a good origin movie, Maleficent 2 is here to leave a bitter taste. In the first few minutes, it looks promising, but then, the script abandons everything. It's an unnecessary sequel. Michelle Pfeiffer plays a not-so-scary villain.
Any sad scene, particularly Conall's death scene, is just boring. Conall was presented for a few minutes and that was not necessary to build a good character, for the audience to feel the pain of his death.
Jenn Murray can't really show who she really is, as her character just looks like a robot. And worst of all. The film is named after Maleficent and the title character is just a drag on the script, which gives the spotlight to Aurora, a weak character, who alongside the Prince, another weak character, makes the main core plummet.
