Jolie fits the part well enough yeah but this movie is a pretty epic misfire that craps on one of their best animated classics. Sure its effects sometimes look great and Jolie honestly does a good job with the material but its attempts to make you sympathize with a character who was suppose to be a villain are absolutely infuriating and the "true loves kiss" thing may be the dumbest and worst crapping on Walt Disney's conventions ever.
I know Maleficent in the original may not have been a very complex character but at least she had a fantastic menace to her. Here she is a annoying girl with man issues.
