Review of Maleficent (2014) by Ilsa W — 24 Jan 2015
A really enjoyable reimagining of the Sleeping Beauty story told from the 'vilains' point of view. Jolie is perfect and was possibly born to play this role. Sam Riley is also very good as her feathered sidekick.
I thought Sharlto Copley was an odd casting choice, but he's decent enough as are the supporting cast. A slightly weak script is helped by a brilliant performance from Jolie and some great special effects.
