Maleficent didn't offer much more than some eye catching special effects and a familiar story, which I feel it did cleverly add to- but also ruined. It's very dark and creepy, and paints the enemy as a justifiable hero in some terms.
I believe it'll be confusing and scary to kids and I wouldn't want to ever recommend it to them. Rating: 6 / 10.
