Review of Maleficent (2014) by Aaron A — 02 Jun 2016
Fantastic. This is a great example of a movie whose cinematography is the star, yet is used well to establish characters with clear and emotionally resonant motivations. Angelina was better than she has ever been and was an absolute delight to watch.
Her rage, her pathos, and the slow building of her rediscovered joy were all completely believable. The movie focuses on three characters and their relations and does it very well. I will be buying this to add to my collection.
I'll be revisiting Angelina's mannerisms as Maleficent and the cinematography in this gem for years to come.
