Review of Maleficent (2014) by Katharine B — 02 Jun 2015
It's one of those movies whose concept is just so wonderfully exciting that you really want it to be good, but it just isn't. Look to the series Once Upon a Time for a better execution of the wonderful concept of the villain's side of the looking glass.
This story is badly told, strung together with wax and hair from fractured pieces of mythos, and suffers from some serious plot-knots at that spinning wheel. Your own imagination can do better, I promise.
