Review of Malcolm X (1992) by Knowledge U — 29 Jul 2009
With the sole exception of 25th Hour, this has to be my favorite Spike Lee Joint. Denzel Washington completely inhabits Malcolm X, and it makes for one of the best performances I've seen in a long time. The story starts out a little slow but the 3+ hour movie never loses your attention. It's a biopic, and as such there are some scenes in there that just have to be in there, but the story is so interesting and the film is so beautifully made that it's hard to think of the bad stuff.
Now bring on the MLK movie.
