It was always going to be hard to make a good film when it is (a) over 3 hours long (b) focused on Denzel Washington busting out his trademark shit acting. Throw in some bizarre direction (Denzel Washington's face spinning, inexplicable gliding down the street, 'oh right, these are flashbacks!') and you have one piece of crap movie.
