There simply was never a better actor to play the role. From the appearance, to the voice, etc... In this film, Denzel ranks...probably among the top 2 performances in the past 20 years. An underrated film too.
for some odd reason, this film wasn't among the best picture nominees in that year. Simply a great film and rivals with "Do the Right Thing" as Spike Lee's Best Film.
