Review of Malcolm X (1992) by Richard F — 05 Oct 2009
A riveting film that was an hour too long. The first hour of the film, detailing Malcolm's life before he found Allah, could easily be cut out of the film with no major loss to the story or life of Malcolm X.
That's the only thing I would have changed. I would have started the film in prison and gone from there. That's the interesting part of his life and the part we want to know more about. But just a riveting performance by Denzel.
He deserved an Oscar for this far more than Training Day.
