Review of Malcolm X (1992) by Mariana A — 30 Nov 2010
Generally speaking, one of the better biopics I've ever seen, and I've seen more than a fair handful. It appears most people don't have so much of an inclusive understanding of what drove and inspired Malclom X, but Lee's direction is quite in-depth and worth every minute -- does not -- even remotely! -- feel like something lasting three-plus hours.
There is rather an intense, striking paradox between X's beginnings and one of his later episodes. While the ending is rather rushed and thus abrupt, the overall effect of this tale is truly not only enlightening, but also intoxicating.
