Review of Malcolm X (1992) by Alex P — 19 Feb 2012
I've been wanting to see this for years, but have always been turned away by the 3+ hour length. Now that I've finally seen it, I can't recall another 3 hour movie that fully held my attention throughout.
This is a masterpiece of a biopic, pure and simple. To think that this was almost made by a white director is absolutely laughable in retrospect. What a labor of love from Spike; the dude had been dreaming of making this film ever since he was a youngster.
How incredible it is when one's dream production is executed this flawlessly.
