Review of Malcolm X (1992) by Daniel M — 12 Mar 2012
It's been a long time since a movie has touch me like one has. Watching this refreshed my memory of Malcolm X's life and legacy. Denzel does a wonderful job portraying him. I was crying all through the end and still weepy the next day and contemplatively asking myself questions for about two weeks now.
*SPOILER ALERT*.
Questions like-.
"When will people stop persecuting those striving for peace and harmony.. and what is the motivation for these said persecutions? I'm curious to know- what is the fear there? Is the ultimate sacrifice for self-less giving, death? Are YOU willing to give up YOUR life for others' who ultimately might not appreciate it? Does that even matter?" , etc.
Oh yea, and the costume design/wardrobe is pretty awesome. That was a nice surprise. :).
