Review of Malcolm X (1992) by Kevin N — 15 Oct 2012
Spike Lee's "Malcolm X" does no justice to the impressionable autobiography made by the film's namesake. While Denzel Washington's performance is commendable, this film is far too melodramatic, theatrical, and characteristically cliche to bring meaningful insight to the daunting figure that was El Hajj Malik El Shabazz.
This film is more of a peculiar glorification than a dutiful dedication.
