All in all, Malcolm & Marie turned out about as well as anyone could have hoped, particularly with the challenges of filming in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. For that, Levinson and his cast and crew should be commended, as they were able to find a way to make the best of an unfortunate hand they were dealt.

Malcolm & Marie isn't shaping up to be one of this year's premier Oscar contenders (Netflix has other titles they're prioritizing in the race), but that doesn't mean the film isn't worth watching.

For anyone who's a fan of Washington or Zendaya, or is just curious to see how a pandemic-produced relationship drama plays out, Malcolm & Marie is worth queuing up on the streamer when it comes out.
