Review of Making Love (1982) by Michael C R — 02 Sep 2018
Very well done and very brave for its time. Though not a perfect film, making love offers three excellently performances by Kate Jackson Michael ontkean and Harry Hamlin. Jackson especially was very moving empathetic and believable.
Yes, it does have some cliched dialogue but the story is a positive one about being true to your own sexuality and living an honest life. There' was nothing quite like it at the time and I really appreciate it as it helped me with my own struggle.
For once, the homosexual character did not commit suicide or turn to drugs and alcohol or have a miserable life. Groundbreaking in its own way. With a beautiful title song by Roberta Flack the boot.
