Review of Make Way for Tomorrow (1937) by Jeff B — 08 Jul 2011
This movie is fantastic and devastating at the same time. It is brutally honest, engaging, and understanding of all of the characters while painting an intolerable image of the state of modern society that is truer today than it was in 1937.
It is also the saddest movie I've ever seen, but it achieves that depth of sorrow in a way that never feels false or manipulative. Just human.
