Review of Major Payne (1995) by Iluvtaylor L — 03 Oct 2009
Damon Wayans is hilarious as ex-Marine Major Benson Winifred Payne turned commanding officer of a JROTC program. He brings his knowledge of deadly nature to the school and tries to get the students to respect their superiors, mostly him.
In turn the students show him how to loosen up. Major Payne has some of Damon Wayan's best one-liners and improvisional dialogue. I've always enjoyed The Wayans Bros. work. They're not much when they're in the same movie together because each one seems to fight on who will be leading comedic man.
When they're left to star in movies on their own, Major Payne is the outcome. It would be nice for Damon Wayan's to make a movie about his character skit from SNL on Homie D. Clown. Still his best character ever.
