Yes this is a far cry from the original movie, however it doesn't completely suck. It is very happy to retread schticks and characters from the previous films but Scott Bakula keeps the movie afloat with a steady performance and makes it watchable.
I am perhaps overrating this but, there were some enjoyable moments even if they weren't all intentional.
