SLAPSHOT set the standard for the "band of missfit" sports comedy movie. Charlie Sheen plays himself as a star pitcher who has fallen on hard times due to substance abuse problems, womanizing, and a stretch in the state prison (see, I told you Chick was playing himself).
He becomes the leader of the band of slobs put together by new owner Rene Russo and undermine her machinations (and somehow manage to get a pisture of her in her lingerie...don't ask).
