This doesn't quite stack up with the other great baseball movies of the late 80s (Field of Dreams, Bull Durham, etc.) but it does a good job of establishing characters that you root for. And the baseball scenes are pretty well shot, especially the final game against the Yankees.
It wasn't quite as funny as I expected, and the scenes between Tom Berenger and Rene Russo were pretty dull. But it is pretty entertaining throughout.
