Although a little slow at the outset, this inspiring and entertaining documentary about the first all-female crew to participate in the round-the-world Whitbread yachting race is more than just a laudatory exercise in taking on the untried.

It's also an engaging, beautifully photographed adventure saga about an arduous task that supremely tests one's wits and endurance, regardless of gender or any other defining characteristic. A riveting, spellbinding tale that often has an edge-of-your-seat quality about it, quite rare for a documentary.

See it and be both enlightened and entertained.
